Frequently Asked Questions About Glass and Mirror Hinges

What is a glass or mirror hinge?

It is a hinge designed for glass or mirrored cabinet doors. It can be fitted through a hole in the glass or mounted on a glue plate bonded to the back of the door.

Does the glass need to be drilled?

It depends on the hinge. Salice Series B is fitted using a separate glue plate and requires no drilling. The Series 200 and Series 600 glass hinges require a Ø26 mm hole.

What glass thickness are the hinges suitable for?

The Series 200 and Series 600 models are designed for glass 4–6 mm thick. Always check the specification for the selected model before drilling.

What is the difference between bonded and drilled glass hinges?

A bonded hinge is fitted to a glue plate attached to the back of the glass or mirror. A drilled glass hinge is fitted in a prepared hole in the door and is normally completed with a decorative cover plate on the front.

Are glass hinges available for different door positions?

Yes. The range includes models for full-overlay and inset doors, plus a model for narrow face frames. Choose according to the position of the door in relation to the cabinet side.

Do the glass and mirror hinges have soft-close?

Series B is available in both self-closing and integrated soft-close versions. The Series 200 and Series 600 glass hinges are self-closing and do not have integrated soft-close.

Are the mounting plate, glue plate or decorative cover plate included?

No. The mounting plate, glue plate and decorative cover plate are not automatically included. Check which parts the selected model requires and order them separately.
