Mounting plates for concealed cabinet hinges

Mounting plates for concealed cabinet hinges

The mounting plate is fixed to the cabinet side and connects the hinge arm to the cabinet. For the hinge to operate correctly and position the door accurately, the plate type, height and fixing method must suit both the hinge and the cabinet construction.

A mounting plate is never included when purchasing a hinge and must always be selected and ordered separately. Here you will find mounting plates for Salice hinges, including cruciform mounting plates, linear mounting plates and renovation mounting plates.

Cruciform mounting plates for 37 or 28 mm hole-line positions

Cruciform mounting plates have a wider shape with multiple fixing points and are commonly used in kitchen and furniture cabinets. They are available for two different distances between the front edge of the cabinet and the hole line: 37 or 28 mm. Check the position of the existing hole line before selecting a mounting plate.

Linear mounting plates

Linear mounting plates have a narrower design and are used when the cabinet drilling pattern or available mounting space requires this configuration. They are also available in different heights and with different fixing methods.

Mounting plate height affects the door position

The height of the plate affects the position of the hinge and therefore the door overlay or inset. The correct height is determined together with the hinge arm, the position of the door and the drilling position of the hinge cup. Always check the hinge drilling diagram or product information before ordering.

Renovation mounting plates for older cabinets

A renovation mounting plate is used when the existing holes in the cabinet side cannot be reused, for example when replacing hinges in an older cabinet. Instead of using the old hole line, the renovation plate is fixed to the front edge of the cabinet.

Renovation mounting plates cannot be used with inset doors because fixing the plate to the front edge does not provide the position required for this type of door construction.

Frequently asked questions about mounting plates

Is a mounting plate included when I buy a hinge?

No. A mounting plate is never included when purchasing a hinge and must always be selected and ordered separately. Check that the series, height, fixing method and hole-line position suit the hinge and cabinet construction.

Which mounting plate fits my hinge?

The mounting plate must be compatible with the hinge series and connection. You must also check the plate height, fixing method and the distance between the front edge of the cabinet and the hole line.

What do 37 or 28 mm mean on a cruciform mounting plate?

The measurement indicates the distance between the front edge of the cabinet and the hole line used to secure the mounting plate. Cruciform plates are available for hole lines positioned 37 or 28 mm from the front edge.

What does mounting plate height mean?

The height indicates how far the mounting plate projects from the cabinet side. It affects the hinge position and therefore how far the door overlays the cabinet side or sits inside the cabinet opening.

What is the difference between a cruciform and a linear mounting plate?

A cruciform mounting plate has a wider shape and is commonly used with a standardised hole line. A linear mounting plate is narrower and is used when the drilling pattern or available mounting space requires this configuration.

When should I use a renovation mounting plate?

A renovation mounting plate is used when existing holes in the cabinet side cannot be reused, for example in an older cabinet. The plate is fixed to the front edge of the cabinet and provides a new mounting point for the hinge.

Can a renovation mounting plate be used with an inset door?

No. The renovation mounting plate is fixed to the front edge of the cabinet and therefore cannot be used with an inset door.
