Replacement Mounting Plates for Concealed Hinges

Replacement Mounting Plates for Concealed Hinges

A replacement mounting plate is used when fitting a concealed hinge to an older cabinet where the existing holes cannot be reused. Its design allows new fixing points to be positioned towards the front of the cabinet side, close to the front edge.

For older cabinets and unusable screw holes

A replacement mounting plate is useful when the original plate has a different drilling pattern or when the existing holes are incorrectly positioned, worn or otherwise unusable. Fixing the plate further forward means that the old holes do not need to be reused.

Not suitable for inset cabinet doors

Because the replacement mounting plate is fixed towards the front of the cabinet side, it cannot be used with an inset door. It is intended for overlay doors where the construction and hinge position suit the plate’s fixing arrangement.

Choose the correct plate height

The replacement mounting plate is available in heights H=1 and H=4. The plate height affects the position of the hinge and therefore the door overlay. Depth is adjusted by cam, while height is adjusted using the elongated fixing holes.

Check the plate height, door position and compatibility with the selected hinge before ordering. A mounting plate is never included when purchasing a hinge and must be ordered separately.

Frequently Asked Questions About Replacement Mounting Plates

What is a replacement mounting plate?

It is a mounting plate for concealed hinges that allows the fixing points to be positioned towards the front of the cabinet side. It is mainly used when renovating or updating older cabinets.

When do I need a replacement mounting plate?

It can be used when the existing holes cannot be reused, for example because the old mounting plate has a different drilling pattern or the holes are incorrectly positioned or worn.

Where is the replacement mounting plate fitted?

The plate is fitted towards the front of the cabinet side, close to the front edge. The old holes further back on the cabinet side do not need to be used.

Can the replacement mounting plate be used with an inset door?

No. It cannot be used with an inset door because its position towards the front of the cabinet side is not suitable for this type of installation.

Which plate height should I choose?

The replacement mounting plate is available in heights H=1 and H=4. The height affects the hinge position and door overlay. Select the height according to the hinge model and required door position.

How is the replacement mounting plate adjusted?

Depth is adjusted by cam, while the elongated fixing holes are used to adjust the height.

What is the difference between a replacement mounting plate and a hinge repair plate?

A replacement mounting plate moves the hinge fixing towards the front edge of the cabinet. A hinge repair plate instead creates a new and larger fixing surface around damaged screw holes.

Is the replacement mounting plate included with the hinge?

No. A mounting plate is never included when purchasing a hinge and must always be ordered separately.
